02 Data Collection
We collect no data of any kind. Layerlog does not gather, transmit, sell, rent or otherwise process any personal or non-personal information about you.
Specifically, the app does not collect:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers or any contact details
- Location data, whether precise or approximate
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs or usage analytics
- Crash reports, telemetry or diagnostic logs
- Photos, files, contacts, calendar entries or any other device content
- Payment or financial information — the app is free and contains no purchases
03 Data Usage
The content you create in Layerlog — print records, slicer settings, filament spools, printers, presets, tags, notes, goals and achievements — exists solely on your device and is used only to render the app's own screens and to compute your statistics locally.
All calculations, including charts, streaks, cost estimates and insights, are performed on the device itself. Nothing is uploaded for processing.
04 Data Sharing
We share nothing, because we hold nothing. There is no backend service to receive your data. No information is disclosed to third parties, advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers or affiliates.
If you choose to use the app's export feature, the resulting JSON or CSV file is created on your device and handed to whichever destination you pick through the Android share sheet. That transfer is initiated entirely by you and is outside our control.
05 Data Security
Your records are stored locally using an on-device database (Hive Community Edition). Private notes are additionally protected with AES-256 encryption, and application settings are stored via flutter_secure_storage, which is backed by the Android Keystore system.
Because no data leaves the device, there is no transmission to intercept and no server database that could be breached.
06 Data Retention
Your data remains on your device for exactly as long as you want it to. It is removed when you delete individual records, when you use Settings → Clear all data, or when you uninstall the application. We retain no copies, because we never receive any.
07 No User Accounts
Layerlog has no registration, no login, no password and no user profile. You are never asked to identify yourself, and the app cannot associate its contents with any individual.
08 Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Layerlog does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, including children under 13. Since no data is collected from any user whatsoever, the app cannot collect data from a child. Layerlog is a general-purpose hobbyist tool and is not directed at children, nor is it enrolled in the Designed for Families programme.
09 Your Rights
You retain complete control over everything in the app at all times:
- Access: every record is visible to you inside the app
- Portability: export your full log to JSON or CSV at any time
- Correction: edit any print, spool, printer or preset freely
- Erasure: delete individual records, use Settings → Clear all data, or uninstall the app
No request to us is required to exercise any of these rights, because your data has never left your device.
10 No Third-Party Services
Layerlog integrates no third-party SDKs. There is no advertising network, no analytics platform, no crash-reporting service, no social login and no cloud backend of any kind.
11 Permissions
Layerlog requests exactly one Android permission:
The app requests no camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage or notification permissions. Every feature other than viewing this page works with the device fully offline.
12 Google Play Data Safety
Our Play Console Data Safety declaration states "No data collected" and "No data shared". This is an accurate description of the app's behaviour: no data is collected, so none can be shared, and none is transferred off the device.
13 Policy Dates and Changes
This policy is effective from 21 July 2026 and was last updated on 21 July 2026.
Should this policy ever change, the revised version will be published at this address with an updated date, and the change will be reflected in the corresponding app release. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

15 Legal Compliance
Layerlog is designed to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Developer Programme Policies, including the User Data policy.
Compliance is straightforward in this case: the app performs no processing of personal data as defined by those regulations. There is no data controller relationship to establish, no legal basis to declare, and no cross-border data transfer, because no personal data is ever collected or transmitted.
